Committee
Our Committee is made up of a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. These people have the power to vote on decisions. In the event of a tied vote, the Chairman's decision is final, except for financial matters where the Treasurer has the final decision.
Committee members are elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting and Extaordinary General Meetings. Committee applicants must be nominated and seconded. In the event that an applicant runs unopposed, the membership is given the opportunity to object. If there are any objections, a vote of confidence is held, and the applicant must meet 50% of the membership votes to win the post.
The Committee also appoints Researchers and the Webmaster. They do not have a vote on committee matters.

Chairman
Our chairman is Ross Andrews.
The Chairman is the public spokesperson for, and leader of, the society. The Chairman cannot be the same person as the Treasurer, but he may act as a deputy for other Committee members in the event that they are unavailable.
Vice Chairman
Our vice chairman is Bruce.
The Vice Chairman's role is to deputise for the Chairman in his absence and when his duties require sharing. He may also act as a deputy for other Committee members in the event that they are unavailable.
Secretary
Our Secretary is Sarah Woodward.

The Secretary is responsible for managing correspondance for the Society.
She is also responsible for typing up meeting agendas, minutes and checking papers prior to publication. This person has their own PC and is familiar with Microsoft Word 2000 or above. Other responsibilites include providing a central point of contact for special events and acting as a deputy for other Committee members in the event that they are unavailable.
Treasurer
Our Treasurer is Graham Philpot.
The Treasurer is the financial manger for the society. This person keeps track of funding and expenses for special events. He must arrange for all income and expenditure above £5 to have documented approval by another Committee member (not the Treasurer's spouse or partner) in addition to herself, and he is responsible for making actual purchases such as stationery or equipment. The Treasurer will also ensure that the finances of the society remain lawful and respectable at all times. The Treasurer cannot be the same person as the Chairman, but he may act as a deputy for other Committee members in the event that they are unavailable.
Webmaster
Our Webmaster is Andrew Oakley.

The Webmaster is responsible for managing our website and mailing lists. He is also a central point of contact for general technical expertise.
The Webmaster is not an elected Committee member but is appointed as honorary position by the Committee. He has no administrative powers.
Researchers
Researchers are not elected Committee members but are appointed as honorary staff positions by the Committee in recognition of their expertise and effort. They have no administrative powers.
